The Index & Systematic Equity Portfolio Management team works collegially and shares responsibility for portfolios within the team. Each fund managed by the Index & Systematic Equity Portfolio Management team has a primary, alternate and trained portfolio manager, whose lead and deputy portfolio managers are jointly responsible for the fund`s performance. The day-to-day management of the fund is the responsibility of the Senior Portfolio Manager and, in his absence, the Assistant. Day-to-day portfolio management includes monitoring the portfolio against the benchmark, managing cash flows (including provisions) and corporate actions, and implementing changes to the index. The Sub-Fund aims to create long-term capital appreciation by investing in a diversified portfolio of securities defined in a relevant global index that adheres to Islamic investment principles as interpreted and established by the Shariah Oversight Committee and made available to the Board of Directors. These principles are set out in the “Sub-Fund Investment Policy” section of the full prospectus. The relevant global index, against which the performance of the Sub-Fund is measured, is presented in the Company`s annual financial statements and the Sub-Fund`s outperformance or underperformance relative to the relevant index.
