As a long-time member of the International Bar Association (IBA), Thomas regularly participates in IBA conferences. He has served as Secretary General in recent years and is currently the Director of the Bahrain India Society, which was established to promote business between the Kingdom of Bahrain and India. He is also the legal coordinator of the Indian Community Relief Fund, the Indian Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London (A.C.I.Arb.) and a member of the Bahrain National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Paris. He has held various positions in various local social, cultural and religious organizations in Bahrain, including ex-Hon. President of one of Bahrain`s largest expat clubs.
