Fortunately, the speakers were very encouraging and did not hesitate to help me whenever I was in need. Most importantly, they had creative teaching methods (and lots of interesting activities) that helped me better understand legal concepts in my different modules. In addition, the UoRM student community is also very close-knit and active. I really enjoyed working with my classmates at the various events of the Student Union (RUMSA) and the University. Reflecting on everything I experienced during my first year at UoRM, I can now confidently say that I made the right choice to study law at this prestigious institution. Not only have I improved academically, but I have also maintained and developed many soft skills that will certainly serve me well in the future. Of course, the amount you earn ultimately depends on your skills, experience, and how much time you`ve spent in the industry as a primary legal practitioner.
Hello! My name is Sangitha Gnanaguru and I am currently a progressive 1st year student in the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) program. At first, honestly, I didn`t have a clear idea of which university to choose to pursue my law studies, but after much research and a review of the options given from local universities, the University of Reading in Malaysia became my first choice. Reading not only provides a prestigious law degree, but also provides us with a quality teaching and learning experience as well as dedicated educators. Smaller, more intimate classes allow faculty and students to engage more when opinions and reflections on law are shared on a more interpersonal level. In addition, our instructors` ability to make our classes warm, less intimidating and engaging encourages participation and interaction. The module I found most interesting in my first year was criminal law because it has the most direct impact on people`s lives. Applying these laws to those who violate them is not easy, but it can be rewarding. Although it is supposed to be the most challenging module, my speaker (call Mr.
Prabu!) reinforced my passion for criminal law and the justice system. When I graduate, I strive to bring my ideas and guidance from my educators to create justice and serve society with truth, justice and equality. What I enjoy most about my university studies is the study sessions with my classmates in our Learning Resource Centre (LRC) and the ongoing support and guidance from our professors. My advice to other students and prospective students would be to always persevere. Consistency and discipline are very important attributes that must be acquired if one is always to be able to see situations with a glimmer of hope on the horizon. My name is Cheow J-Ann. I am a 1st year student, Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and High Achievers Scholar. The reason I chose to study at the University of Reading is that the university offers a recognised law programme with high quality standards in its academic programme and continues to serve my agenda of getting my law degree from a recognised law programme. Subsequently, the student-to-staff ratio of the university reinforced my decision to continue my graduate studies at the institute, as it has a low ratio. Thus, smaller classes are organized in which students ask questions and do so in one. More comfortable setting. After all, my ambition is to be in-house counsel to renowned law firms after graduation. The module I have found most interesting so far is contract law, as it offers an interesting and profound insight into the structure of our social mechanisms. Simply put, contract law allows us to understand what we need to know to keep and keep agreements and promises. Law professors who teach us contract law have often put forward not only legal but also moral arguments to stretch the mind and arguments of the student beyond conventional boundaries and allow us to learn what is right and what is really necessary for the functioning of our society.
