Platform Definition in Legal Terms

During a recent discussion about legal tech startups, Professor Richard Susskind mentioned that a few years ago there were a few hundred startups in the legal field, now there are a few thousand. It is a catalyst for the idea of a legal platform. How does the industry integrate all these different companies and their applications and make them work together? Well, formulate solutions, but first we need to understand the concepts. Internal platforms typically make their capabilities available via APIs. However, they can provide other mechanisms, such as direct access to data, depending on the needs of the products they consume. (2018, 05). Whether in court. In this new field, all options are viable and permissible, allowing each organization to choose its own adventure or combination of products and services to better serve its customers. Although the legal platform is still in its infancy, several organizations are currently competing in this area. Imagine a world where hundreds, and now thousands, of emerging companies exist around the world.

They all have their own code bases based on a variety of computer languages, and all compete for the attention of law firms, large and small, both in business and legal practice. Many of these start-ups, competing with a host of well-known players in the legal field, flooded the market like a new gold rush. In the past, I have talked about a possible tsunami of change in the legal industry. This is something I`ve been watching closely for a few years, but now I think the switch could be reversed. The initial goal of the first platform was a concept in the world of software and applications called containerization. (Essentially, though, we describe standardization with a focus on safety.) Platforms (in the context of digital trade) exist at several levels. They range from high-level platforms that enable a platform business model to low-level platforms that provide a set of business and/or technology functions that use other products or services to provide their own business capabilities.

In terms of social issues, a platform meaning is provided here: a formal explanation of the principles on which a group, such as a political party, appeals to the public. To access a platform, users log on to their computers by using their Active Directory (AD) credentials, typically their Windows credentials. After verification, users end up on a custom page that they know professionally, for example as an IP process partner working on five cases for three tenants. Second, platforms allow users to access a variety of resources. All of this information is provided to them, including the number of hours they`ve billed, their customers` current knowledge, their latest signups, and maybe even a dashboard view of all their employees` dedicated ongoing deals. In fact, the perfect platform has no walls, and all players – companies across the entire legal technology landscape – can place their applications on the platform, even competitors of those who create the legal platform. Basically, this platform provides the consumer with a user-friendly, consistent, and reliable experience that is likely to be very safe. The developer knows what to expect, because the Apple platform dictates the rules, and the consumer has fair and reasonable expectations of their interaction when browsing, purchasing, and downloading an app on the platform. (You can find the platform in the World Legal Encyclopedia and the etiology of more terms). 1540s, “plan of action, schema, project”, from Middle French platform, platte fourme, literally “flat form”, from Old French flat “flat” (see plateau; this term is also a noun). + form “form” (see form; this term is also a noun.).

The literal meaning of “raised flat surface” in English was first recorded in the 1550s. The political importance, “Explanation of Party Politics,” dates from 1803, probably originally an image of a literal platform where politicians gather, stand and make their calls, and perhaps influenced by an earlier sense of the “doctrine of church rules” (first attested in the 1570s). The direction of the station dates back to 1838. Platforms that enable a platform business model have associated business ecosystems. Typically, they make their features available to members of these ecosystems via APIs. Platforms have been around for centuries and in many forms. Simply put, platforms create an ecosystem or environment that individuals and businesses can participate in if they follow rules and standards. Ultimately, this confluence creates a network effect for the community. For example, Apple has created a platform where anyone using a standard set of code can program their app and download it from the Apple Store to buy. Many requirements are met before the app is available in the App Store, such as security, performance, design, and legal obligations.

Specificity is granular: for example, an icon can only have a certain size, and there is a limit of 4,000 characters for the application description. One of the main advantages of a platform is interoperability. The concept that platform tools or applications can interact by sharing information or using other software, services, or even hardware. For example, if I give permission, my banking app on my phone can interact with my phone`s camera to take a picture of a check I want to deposit. My food app can interact with my GPS and notify me of a 50% discount on organic Ethiopian coffee when I walk past the store. Exchanging information between interconnected applications creates efficiency and workflow, which, as we will describe later, is important in the legal industry.
